  • Using Bake3D to generate semi-transparent shadow map (png)..

    Hi,

I m trying to use Bake3D to produce semi-transparent png shadows under a chair.

Here is what I have allready tryed :

    1) under my chair, I have place a square poly

2)I assign to it the VRay mat warper and turn on mat object.

    3) I place in the mat warper a Max's standard matte material

    4) I run Bake3D on my poly

The baked shadow of the chair looks perfect BUT the png has absolutly no alpha channel and it seems that VRay render the matte object like a "standard" VRay material.

Maybe I missunderstood something? or maybe it is simply not possible for now with this version of Bake3D?

What are your matte object settings for the VRay mat warpper?

Well before taking a snapshot of my settings, uploading it to my FTP, linking it in the forum.... I would prefer to know simply if it is not a VRay Bake3D limit.

Did you ever try/success in baking such a texture J_Bug?

It looks like it may be. I've tried everything with both material and object proporties. I've even tried random ideas as long shots with no luck.
