  • MAX 6 and File Link

I'm a viz 4.2 user, I', modeling in Adt 3.3 but I wanna change to adt 2004 and Max 6.

Only one think stops me to do this: max 6 doesn't support File Link Mananger

Does Anyone knows a plugin or a way to put FileLink in max 6?

    Thanks.

I may be mistaken, but i thought they'd added this.. I dont have Max6 here, but you may want to check the Utilities menu for the file link manager.. Thats where it appeared in max5 after you install the 'Design' Extension..

I talked with Discreet about this. It is NOT supported but the requests for it are high, so they are aware of the situation. All of the Viz plugins have to be recompiled for Max 6 in order for them to work. Of course they cannot tell us WHEN or IF, but I would think they will eventually accomodate us.

          Hi there.

As far as i know, some features of the "File Link Manager"
are included directly in the import dialog, when you import
          dxf or dwg files.

There will be a file link manager for Max 6, it will be available as an extension on the subscription program

              For those that may know,

When the next release of VIZ (VIZ 6 I think it is called) comes out will it have file linking with ADT 2004?

              Thanks.

Well, in my job we cannot use the import, the architectural projects are in constant change and import all times will be a hard work to aplly all materials again and etc...

I note that some users don't know file link mananger, I suggest to see it in autodesk page, it's a great feature that cames with Viz series. It's a simple explanation: When you change something in your dwg file, the max file changes too (almost automatic) without need to readjust the lighting, the material, the names, etc.. That's why I can't just import my file or save in 2000 format.

The only situation If some architect brings to me the project done without any simple changes (it's utopic to me).

Ramsay: When you knows about the extension can u remind us?
