  • Irradiance (animation - pre pass) frame range

When using animation pre-pass for the irradiance map I have set the frame range (on the render output) to 0-222. My total frame range is 0-1400. Why is it I can see other sections of the animation being calculated that are not within the frame range I have set ? ie. 223-1400. I have camera path on but I would have thought I would only be able to see the pre-pass for 0-222. Will this pre-pass be different to one where I set the main frame range to 0-222 ?

With the animation prepass you have to set it to single frame and adjust the timeline accordingly to your sequence. Hope it helps!

When you say timeline, are you talking about the time range on the render rollout or the time range for the main timeline ? because there is quite a difference in results of what is displayed on screen when carrying out the pre-pass...

Time range of the main timeline, I think vray as no way to knows how much time is needed for the camera you render, so to maximize the sampling you need to adjust the main timeline for the number of frames needed.
