  • Run PSD Manager license over VPN?

So I am successfully able to use Vray both at home and at work (not at the same time of course) by using a VPN for Vray to see the license. I would like to do the same with PSD manager. But that uses IPClamp and gets a unique number from a network card's MAC address or something (seems crazy for a plugin but thats another story). Has anyone been able to get PSDManager to work over a network so i can also use that when i work from home? Most software (AutoCAD, 3dsmax, etc.) allow me to install on two PCs and I really do not want to but PSD manager twice just to be able to work at home. Advice?

Yes, you can use a VPN as you intend to, psd-manager will see the license like you were at work. There is nothing crazy about it using the MAC of the network card. The network card simply acts as your dongle.

An alternative is to use a USB network card as your "dongle" for psd-manager if you physically want to carry your license around (Please contact register@cebas.com to get your license transferred to a new USB network card. Once this is done, you need to copy your ipclamp.lic file to all your 3ds max PCs that you want to use the USB network card "dongle" with.)

    Best Regards,
