volume light of max doesn work in vray!!! does vray support those effects of max???

one more question: i use hdri for image backgrounds....i found that if i use them..the background appear to be stretched and blurred....but when other ppl use them it seems perfectly clear....is their a option to correct this????

    thx alot

I Think it works. Use an normal spot with shadowmaps set the muiltiplier
    about m=10 and use attenuation.
make shore that u increase the map size of the shadowmap.

What exactly are you trying to do ?
As I understand it, hdr images should show up as sharp/blurry as other bitmaps depending on what u do with them.
Do you use a VRayHDRI as environment map ? (spherical, mirrored ball..?)
What is the size of your map ?
What output size are you rendering ?

            some details pls

well...i use ufizi.hdr(1500*1500)....and i use it for environment map (angular).........when showed up in render....it's fairly blurry......not as sharp as it suppose to be.......can i make it sharper?? .........i dont think the output size matter.....no matter what size it is....320, 640, 800, 1024.....the looks of the image is still the same.....

i ve seen other ppl use hdri as backgrounds....and they look clear.....mine looks blurry for some reason.....

                hi freak,

well, you are using a spherical map which compresses a 360° environment in a 1500x1500 map (that is not very hi-res).
Using it as environment map means that you stretch that map onto a sphere surrounding you. Then you look throught a camera (or viewport) and that means that you see only a fraction of that map depending on your FOV. This region of the map is then enlarged to your output image size. This is why I asked what size you were rendering. Size does matter !
For example: when you double your FOV you see more of your map and it gets sharper.
Unfortunately, in most cases this isn't an option. unless you want to look at your scene with fisheyes

Ok, what to do to make it sharper: Either use an angular map of (much) higher resolution, or use a hdr that you can directly map (planar) to the screen.
You can also try and convert the angular ufizi.hdr to the cubic environment format (hdrshop) and then cut out the portion that you like. Now you should have a map that corresponds to your lighting and that you can put in the background (map it onto a plane, as far as I know VRayHDRI doesn't support 'environment screen' mapping).
                I haven't tried it, though.

                hope this helps...
