  • Question about Transparent Alpha

Currently I'm trying to render a glas object with some stuff inside. For the glass material I check "Affect channels; All channels" which gives me a transparent alpha. But now my question is how to I get vray to still give me an solid alpha for the objects inside the glass. Because right now it's just ignoring them.

    cheers,

Sure thing and thanks for taking the time.

The white plastic parts in my object are completly ignored.

tried to reproduce your setup here, and it works. maybe it's something in the way you built and intersected the objects' geometry? or the properties of the plastic parts?

I just checked if my plastic parts intersect but they don't and there is no funny business in the material setting and alpha contribution is on 1.0.

Well if you can do it without problems the mistake there has to be a mistake in my scene guess. Won't get back to my workstation before tomorrow.

Just built a new scene with a simple cylinder and another object inside. And I get the same result there the inside object's alpha is ignored.

              works fine for me
maybe attach the scene here in a zip file so we can see whats going on
you sure you setting the "affect all channels" in the refraction and not by mistake in the reflection?
              Kind Regards,

*sigh* I'm almost too ashamed to answer your post but you're right that was it. I dunno how I missed the most obvious mistake. Thanks for your time

                  Hello Ralph,
Could you please upload an example scene with the issue.

                  Edit:
We just now saw that you have solved the problem after we made the post.
