  • Is it possible to region render object not the are?

    Hi,

I have a problem with my night scene cause IR -2/-4 is too much for trees and scattered grass. It's taking forever to render. Is it possible with vray to "region render" single objects? I could use IR -3/-5 to trees and grass. Or do I have to go with matte route?

You car render your scene on two passes, and use different Irradiance Map settings for each one.
What do you mean by "region render single objects" ?

Select the object you want to render, ctrl-i to invert selection, then go to vray properties and check matte object on and alpha contribution to -1. You'll need a flat black in your environment background for it to comp properly. If you're using Light cache it'll do the whole image, but IR and the main render will only do the bit you want. if you've got a dirt in your extra tex it'll do that for the whole image, so you might want to check those.
