  • Toggling the Vray frame buffer

    Using Max 2012/2013 x64 with Vray 2.20.01

Is there a way to open and close the Vray frame buffer with a shortcut or perhaps a line of Maxscript?

    Thanks

You can open it using the renderers.current.showLastVFB() call, but for the moment there is no way to hide it (however if you disable it, the VFB will automatically hide on the next render).

For the next version of V-Ray we are working on full MaxScript exposure for all functions of the VFB.

    Best regards,

      Hi Ivaylo,

      Thank you for the Maxscript.
Assigning this to a button in max is very handy.

I’ve attached the ms and mcr files needed for this in case anyone wants to make their own button.

Unzip and move the files to the following locations:

      3ds Max root\UI\MacroScripts
      QuickShow_VrayFrameBuffer.mcr

      3ds Max root\Scripts
      QuickShow_VrayFrameBuffer.ms

Then Start/restart Max and go to:
      Customize>Customize User Interface>Toolbars tab
Find “QuickShow Vray Frame Buffer” in the list and drag it to an empty space on a toolbar of your choosing.

      QuickShow_VrayFrameBuffer.zip
