  • Vraytoon rendering parameters

    Hello,
I would like to render a scene with only Vraytoon outline. the size of the still render is 7000x3500 pixel. No shadow, no reflection/refraction, pure overide white and vraytoon. There is no image at all while rendering because everything is white. The edge appear only at the end during the filter pass.
What are the best and fatest parameter to render such image?
AA setting has an effect on vraytoon or not?
Is there a way to split the vraytoon pass from the buffer to save is separatly?

Thanks a lot for your advice.

Aa has a big effect - try adaptive subdivision at something like -1,1.

Put a white VRayLightMtl material on everything and leave the VRayToon color to black. The AA of course has an effect on the quality of the lines. In that case you don't need GI or anything.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

It should appear in the Atmosphere render element, provided that the line color is other than black.

I render a pass with everything as a matte/alpha -1, no lights, materials, gi. Renders fast and the remaining scene alpha is a toon line pass

Vlado tricks works well exept that the toon must have a color (no black).

I have some problem to render the details.
I push the threshold up to 0.999, but some line are still missing.
I increase the size of the render as well as size of the line, but still some line are not visible.

              thanks

Can you post an image? Also, what are your actual AA settings?

                Best regards,

It looks like the gap between the objects is too small and V-Ray can't properly detect the edge.

                      Best regards,
