Animation - What type of lighting to use

Hi Guys, Im just setting up an interior scene for some animation work and was wondering which lighting setup to use?

Is irradiance mapping better than photons? or is it the other way around?

There will be quite a few moving elements in the scene.

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appriciated
