  • Panorama exporter compatibility with vray

I'm trying to create a panorama using the panorama exporter in max 6. Works fine with Vray, but when I choose to export it to QTVR from the viewer the option is greyed out. I have Quicktime Pro on my pc, so I'm starting to think that it may be a vray compatibility problem.

Can anyone let me know if this is a vray problem?

    Cheers!

don't waste time , use this pano tour generator:
    http://www.cgtechniques.com/goodies/panotour/

we are working on a extended version with hdr-like support:
    http://www.cgtechniques.com/goodies/panotour/beta/

i think it will do what you want and is maybe better than the max6 exporter (don't have 6)

      Doesn't seem to work.

So back to my original question .... is this a known problem with vray or am I missing a particular setting?

        Hi Zapcat

I have been using the pano exporter in Max successfully with VRay.

Is the export to QTVR greyed out as soon as your rendering has finished?

The only time I have seen the QTVR option greyed out is when you open in the 'viewer' a render that was exported previously as a spherical map and then try to re-export as a QTVR.

Unfortunately Panonodes do feature in max 6 so this script isn't much use to me.

Any other ideas? I'm getting really desperate....

Okay, I figured out what I was doing wrong and now have a decent panorama and HTML page. Sorry about saying it didn't work.

I want to add the panorama to a multimedia cd so I'll have a go at adding it.

Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
