  • Randomly assign GI Receive values

Is it possible? I have no clue about scripting, so that's not a possibility. I have several xfrog trees that I'm using in my scene and to create a more random look I've used blurscript's random transform for rotation and scale but I'd like to create some randomness in the brightness of each tree. Not too much variation though. I would imagine it somewhat simple given knowledge of scripting. Anyone??

You may simply use a 3d map (such as a noise) with a size big enough to fit some trees. Set it to control the mix amount into a blend material.
You'll set a bright and a dark version of the same material. If you've set enough steps into you noise, it might be seamless.

Thanks BH, that will probably do the trick.
