  • Matte - reflection

    Hi Guys,

I'm far from working vray for a while - lots of composit -, but now I have to do something I can't figure out...

Given a plane and some objects on it. I've rendered the objects, their shadows separately, and I would render ONLY the objects' reflection.
With wrapper I can render the reflections, but the alpha contains only the shadows...

    Thanks the advise!

    Best regards,

    Re: Matte - reflection

To composite reflections, you'd normally render against
black and composite using Additive or Screen. You won't
    need an alpha either..

Yes, this was the old way, and usually works with some tweakings.
But what do you do, when the reflection is darker then the plane which I have to composite on, moreover when closer to the object the reflection is darker and farther is lighter then the plane?
And try this method with glossy reflection... Or without pure black reflected environment but 100% expected reflection...

      Many drawbacks...

And we can only make a very affine version of the original with much more time.
How easy can be with a reflection pass?
