  • vray menu items

    In MaxDesign 2012 I hadVray menu items; In the TOOLS menu under Light Lister I had a Vray Light Lister; in CREATE, under Mentalray, I had VRAY with sub menu for creating different lights, planes, proxies etc.
    In 2013 I don't!
    What I can't remember is, if I'd set this up myself via the customise menu, or it was a script that did it (which one), or if the VRAY install should have done it but didn't?
    I'm thinking it's the later and should therefore be a "problem" with a solution hopefully?

    thanks
    Simon

    In the V-Ray installer, there is an option "Register V-Ray menus". It is on by default, but if you disabled it, the menus will not be installed. Also, if you did any changes to the 3ds Max menus (e.g. using the custom UI and defaults switcher), they might be overwritten. You can bring them back if you type
    Code:
    updateVRayMenus()
    in the MaxScript listener.

    Best regards,

      Thanks Vlado,
      I used the custom UI switcher to set it to MAX.vray/ame dark?
      The code worked a treat though.
      many thanks
      Simon
