  • hdri: max gamma

    i seen posts of GoncaloP in the forum (not general, i think it's take5..)where he said a while ago : change the max gamma to 2.2, which is the gamma of hdri.....he said it cuz the guys had trouble with the hdri cuz it's oversaturate or something...

    my question is how to change the max gamma in max....i no this is sorta off topic, nothing about vray...but plz help

    There is a gamma panel in the preferences fly-out, found in the customize menu.

      but wouldn that make everything brighter???

        That is what Gamma does.. making everything brighter =)
        Gamma is just the value of your middle gray tone.

        So if you want to change this for your rendering, I suggest you do
        this after the rendering with fusion or photoshop etc.

        You can use gamma and Gain settings in a Compositing tool
        to change your Exposure btw. the Light intensity of a HDR if this
        is what You mean. (At least your Compositing app must be able to
        read HDR´s like Digital Fusion does)
