  • Dongle question

Due to random strange problems with my dongle, I need a firm clearification about it.

As many of us, I usually render my still images overnight using backburner, the question is:

when exactly the dongle is used? ...I mean, during the queue creation stage or when every computation really starts?

in case of DR and backburner used toghether, does it work the same way?

    thanks in advance

V-Ray checks for a license once at the start of each render (regardless of how many frames are in that render), and releases the license at the end of the render.

If you queue the images as separate tasks in backburner, then V-Ray will check for a license before each image is rendered.

If you continue having issues with the dongle, it might be that the dongle needs replacing and in that case, it would be best to email us to vray@chaosgroup.com and ask for a replacement before it's too late.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
