so for various reasons i need to calculate a 360 degree lighting solution. i could of course animate a camera spinning 360 degrees, but i thought id be clever and just switch the camera i have to "spherical" (its a standard camera) override the fov to 360, and calculate my lighting. i also thought id give it a 2:1 aspect ratio in the render so i get the same lighting sample distribution horizontally and vertically.
however when i start the lightcache solution i get a chunk in the middle of the render, doing a 180 degree slice, and the sides of the render white.
what gives?

and if im barking up the wrong tree here, is there any way to do what im trying to do?
for now its back to the 360 degree animated camera..
