  • Vray Proxies and Body objects?

Hey guys am trying to make a proxy out of an STL i recieved, I shaded it and have some textures. I creted a proxy but when i lead it in it does not bring any information in as far as textures or materials? is it because of it being a body object?

Proxies do not in general store any texture or material information (the idea being, that you usually need to modify the materials afterwards). So you will have to reapply the original materials after you import it.

so the ideal situation would be to attach all objects keeping materials and all that way it will make ID for each object, then export the proxy then assign the material. Because how i have it know its exporting one object but it consist of many peaces that have different shaders.

        This is exactly correct, yes.
