  • Tree root

    Hello,
does anyone of you have an idea where i can get a tree with roots or how to do it myself?
I need it for a scientific visualisation.
    Thx

I seem to remember that some of the xfrog trees have roots as part of the model.
See if any of these do: http://seek.autodesk.com/search/tree...pdown.option.f

Does it have to be a specific tree? the free ivy generator from guruware.at could make something that looks exactly like tree roots if you don't want anything specific.

Some of these might be decent enough?

How far down do you need your roots to go? If you're gonna show the whole root system, I'd try modelling it like I would a tree. I use Onyx to model all my trees. The root system looks more or less the same as the tree does, so it should work to model it, and just flip it upside down. Roots will look different depending on the tree and the soil it grows in. Would love to see where you go with this.

                how about a reference picture?
                What species?
                What age?
Underground or the ones you see at some stumps?

I would also try out guruware i.g., it's great.
