Plane Mapping

Is it possible to map an image to a plane, move verts, and the image moves with it?

how would you map it? regular texture?

Just a regular texture. Drag the top edge, of a rectangle, that has a picture of a circle on it, and it becomes an oval.

You should have your base object with a UVW map applied, then put an edit poly/mesh on top of the stack and do your editing. The map will stretch accordingly...
