  • Multimatte behind Glas

I would like to get a mask for people standing behind windows. Multimatte or vrayobjectselect doesn´t show up behind my glass shader. I tried sveral combinations of affect channels, dind´t work out.

There are several threads concerning the "multimatte behind glas" problem, but I still don´t get it. Most of them show solutions like "additional renderpass without glass objects". Psd-manager also doesn´t work behind glas.

Is there a way to get the multimatte in one single pass?

it does work here, unless you have totally reflective surfaces as windows. in that case the mask will be totally opaque as you wouldn't see anything behind it anyway.

Working fine here too with objects behind a glass surface that has affect all channels.

hmmmm, that´s strange. Vray and max object properties für glass objects=default, vray glass shader with reflection -refraction affecting all channels (refraction is 240, reflection 70, not fresnel) affect shadows ticked.
        still no multimatte behind glas
something is missing here...something like matte object settings?

haha, working with opacity instead of refraction! But is that correct?

tried with your exact same settings for the glass mat and it works as expected, that's weird..

Make sure you don't have clamp output enabled in color mapping. I think this was messing with my multimatte behind glass.
