  • DR renders look different

I just started to experiment with Distributed Rendering and have run into an issue. I'm testing with a file that has lots of frosted glass panels and the DR renders look very different (darker) from a non DR render. Has anyone else experienced this?

sounds like your saved IRR map isn't being loaded, try checking the path

Wouldn't it report an error if the IR map could not load?

Are you distributing the IR calculation? I f you calculate the IR on a single machine and distribute the final rendering using the saved IR it should work.

I have ran into situations where the non DR renderings look lighter than DR. I just live with it. Do you see differences between buckets, or is it the whole image? For me it seems to have something to do with glossy reflections.

The scene I was testing has lots of frosted glass created using glossy refractions - all these objects were noticably darker in the DR renders. It did not seem to matter if the IR map was saved and re-used or generated in bucket mode by the DR renderers.
