Speeding up Vray Mesh Export

Hey guys,
is there a way to make the export of vray mesh files any faster? I have an interior of a car here, where I need to place the seams. So I made one single stitch and duplicated that along a spline. For faster rendering I want to load the stitching as Vray Proxies, so I started to export them using the vray mesh exporter. However, this is extremely slow, I suppose it is because of the amount of stitches (around 7000). Could this be made any faster?

Found the problem: Its not the mesh export itself, it seems to be the automatic creation of the proxies when the checkbox "create proxies automatically" is ticked. After disabling it the export was way faster.
