  • VRay using Max Lens effect glow

    Hi.

Hopefully this is an easy one.

I have just installed VRay to use with 3DS Max Design 2013.

I have an existing Max scene containing multiple Max Lens effect glows. When I convert to a VRay scene the glow effects are lost. I seem to remember (from a previous VRay trial) that it was due to VRay lens effects working on 32 bit and Max effects at 16 bit. At the time I made a note that I unticked "Enable built-in Frame Buffer" in the VRay settings and it worked. Just tried this and the glows are still not there?

Anyone any idea where the setting is for this please?

    Thanks,

    T

I have still not found a solution for this. Has anyone any ideas please. I have a looming deadline to get this job completed.

    Thanks,

    Terry

Can you get us a scene for this? Also, what file format are you saving to?

      Best regards,
      Vlado

        Hi Vlado.

I did also log this with support and sent a scene.

I am saving to Tiff file.

        Thanks,

        Terry

          Is it a floating-point TIFF?

            Hi Vlado.

I found the answer to this. When converted to VRay scene all the Max materials lose their material ID.

            Many thanks,

            T
