  • Taking a node off-line from a job slow things down?

    I set up a job last evening to run over night that incudes my workstation as a node (via Spawner). I arrived at the office this am and discovered that there's about 4 hours yet to go. If I shut down Spawner and take my workstation off-line from the job, will that severally slow things down (besides the fact of removing some cores from the process)? In other words, will backburner start throwing errors since it can't fine that machine anymore, thus slowing the entire process down?

    Thanks.

    Umh yes it will get slower if you take node away...

    It will get slower by the amount of power your computer have... Basic example:

    Node A = 20 ghz
    Workstation = 20 ghz

    Render time with 2 PC's = 1.10h
    Render time with 1 Node A = 2h

    So yea it will go slower.
    Not sure if BB will crash or no... should not and just keep on rendering.
