IIS - Internet Information Services...its part of Win2k and XP

watch your connection slow to a crawl and your processor availability disappear...

Be very careful with IIS if you're on a business network. A coworker in the past got into trouble with our Admin for using it.

not worth the pain dude. as i said to you previously. It would also be mega slow. Even a 2mb line only has an upload speed of around 256.

plus not to mention all the potential security issues.....and there are plent with IIS......you'll need to be vERY carefull to keep up w/ all the latestes updates and even then it's not very secure.......
too much of a pain in my opinion..

plus needing to have a dedicated server....given what he told me his last months usage was, his home 2mb connection would be going full tilt 24/7 i reckon. Definity not worth it...agreed

I personally think a virtual server is far better then runing a server at home ..anyway have a look at:
                  http://www.firepages.com.au/

they offer a ready to use apache/php/mysql/perl enviroment.

grab dev423 and also get the invisionboard (which is btw, the best free msg board and even better than vbb) ..don't dL the 5beta!

I use dev3 for developing webpages.
