  • Render Scene Dialog?

Ok, I am not a noob, well I dont consider myself a noob. I can get around in 3dmax fairly well. But I am having a hard time trying to figure out how I can gat the render scene diaglog to save when I exit it. What I want it is for all the tabs to be minimized when I open it. But what I get is a few ones open and a few closed. I have spent some time seraching these and other forums only to find nothing. So I hope someone can help. Also I did make a "maxstart.max" file set in my scene folder this helps but common params and image sampling is still expanded.

Please be nice to me if this is a ridiculous question.

I would guess that some rollouts are hardwired to be open...

mine seems to be doing that already...I find it in the same state as when I save the scene.....rollouts are open/closed as they were when I saved and exited...
but to my knowledge, I didn't set it up that way.

Thanks for your thoughts, Does anybody else have an answer to this. I notice that Common Params is the only one that stays expanded when I re open max.

this seemes to be something in max 6 and vray cus is not like that when usin mentalray for example. or max native renderer and its not like that in max 5.

Does it not have to do with the "Save UI on Configuration on Exit" switch in Preferences | General | UI Display?

            May be worth a try.

i tried saving the UI but it still oopens the common params dialog and the image sample. So far the only thing that i hav gotten to work was the saving a file with my settings naming it "maxstart" and leaving it in the scens folder.
