  • MAX 5 or 6 is best for VRay

I've been reading mention of some people saying that they wish this and that for VRay in MAX 6. After attending a class on making a short film I received what's called a Student Term License of MAX 5.1 that I haven’t installed as of yet. One of my instructors at Oregon3D said that he could swap it out for MAX 6 since I haven’t registered it yet but I just wanted to find out if it would put a wrench in the works.

Is it just DR and a few other things missing from the MAX 6 compile of VRay?

    Thanks,

      Hey yukon_cornelius,

Do you know about the two versions specifically working with VRay?
Or even any specific problems with 6 as apposed to 5?

      Thanks,

The primary difference is the lack of Distributed rendering.. Which really wouldn't make a difference for your usage i believe..

Unless you've got a stack of computers laying around. (And even then, its definately finicky.)
