  • number of cores per license...

Hi! Is there a limit in the amount of cores that VRay can use with a single license when it comes to distributed render?

I have right now 4 machines which totals 32 real cores, not counting hyper-threading, but not sure if VRay counts it or not.... and just bought another 4 machines, which will double the cores I have for DR... is there a limint on hoe much I can use? Do I need another license for this?

    Thanks!!!

thanks!!! I sent this question to the sales department but nobody answered me.... may be you know or anyone knows or something from Chaos can answer...

Most of the programs today allow you to install a version at work, and lets say another at home or a laptop, mostly for keep working from home or training... but Vray uses a Dongle, which transport can be a problem, if you sole it or break it, you are screwed... Chaos does not allow to install in two machines like the rest??? if it does, how you do that without having to go around with the dongle??? is there any way to use an electronic license???

      Thanks!!

Since the V-Ray license is a floating license, you can leave the dongle in the office and connect to it through the internet when you are at home. If you already have a VPN, you can use that; many users seem to find Hamachi useful for this purpose too.
