  • Shademaps + Animations?

Hey guys wondering if shademaps could be saved when using animation, or will they be saved? Also if there is anyway to calculate a shademap without rendering the final image? something like a animation pass?

i think i just answered my own question, so just to be clear, this map bakes every object in the scene with the information? not camera dependent?

Yep - it bakes in light, samples, spec and so on and it's totally camera dependent. You get free dof from it, almost free stereo and I think much quicker motion blur?

It is camera dependent and DOF and Motion Blur will be rendered much more quickly

i actually did a still render from a camera but also did different angles and the models seemed ok in the different angles, meaning there were no artifacts?? and DOF was still there and fast

The render result should be the same as with the regular render. For test you can try to render one camera, save the shade map and render again with slightly different camera view. Then render again the same view without shade map and compare them with V-Ray history.
