Portal lights + Brute Force necessary?

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone else uses portal lights with Brute Force in interior arch viz stills?

They seem to clean up BF quite nicely but obviously the render times increase.

Since the portal lights change the way BF works I really can't seem to get a 1:1 test going to see which method is faster? (ie High samples with Brute Force VS low samples with Brute Force and portal lights).

It depends on the size of the windows too; if they are relatively large, then brute force might just be enough.
