Hey guys/girls,
I have a scene with lots of grass areas, not enough time to sort out geometry grass so am using displacement which is doing the job just fine in a few of the shots, however for some of the shots the ram usage goes through the roof and the render slows down to a snails pace...
I know how to adjust the edge length, etc and it does make a difference to the speed, however the quality isn't enough. My question is; does it make any difference at all whether I have one vray displacement modifier on all of the areas of grass, or whether I assign each area of grass its own vray displacement modifier?
I suppose ultimately with it being view dependant, probably not... Just thought it was worth asking the question.
