  • VRay 3.0 Feature - Progressive Rendering

    Hi,

Am I right in thinking this feature uses only the CPUs and whatever GPU(s) you have is/are irrelevant?

    Thanks,
    Dan Brew

    Only CPU. No GPU.

    Use RT GPU.

The production renderer is only CPU, yes. If you want to use GPUs, there is V-Ray RT.

        Thanks for the quick replies.

Interesting new feature nonetheless. Maybe even more interesting if Vray supported Xeon Phi...

We are looking into that, but I can't promise anything really. V-Ray does run on the Xeon Phi, but it needs more work to be usable. And would it be worth it performance-wise in the end, it's still unclear, but at least we'll try

I'm sure if Phi is any good you'll find a way of using it. It sounded like it might offer the best of both VRay RT CPU and GPU.

Hopefully it will turn out that way.
