  • AA on Zdepth/Multimattes - no lights ?

    - Why do we have to keep the lights on in order to get a nice AA for the Zdepth or any Multimatte ?
    - Any chance to render Zdepth/Multimatte without lights ?

I double and tripple checked.. if you delete the lights or if you turn them off, AA is gone - yeehaaa

what do I miss here ?

When the primary buffer is black, vray throws min samples at everything. So every other buffer also gets min samples. In order to get better aa in the secondary buffer, all you have to do is raise the min samples. But its going to be something high, like 4, 8 etc until the result is acceptable. If you have lights, then vray applies adaptive sampling range to primary buffer which is also applied to other buffers as well.
