  • Volume Light and VrayPhysicalCamera

I was working with the spot light for volumetric effects, and noticed that it seems to invert when using exposure with the VrayPhysicalCamera. I made the light white, and got grey results. When I made it brighter, the volumetric effects got darker. cranking up the light multiplier basically made a solid wall of dark grey for the volumetric effect.

Turning off exposure and decreasing the intensity of the lights in my scene to work without exposure fixed the issue.

Is there any way to use exposure with the V-ray cam and volumetric effects?

Could you supply a scene for this issue?
    Thank you.

I'm using a projector map for a projector effect. I think that's were the problem is when using exposure.

always had this problem as well
ended up making separate scenes with black override and exposure off

Could you post an example scene setup? I will check if we can do something on our side.

From what I remember, the 3ds Max volume lights always clamp their output between 0 and 1 stripping any HDR information from the result. This is why it is not possible to use them in conjunction with any kind of exposure. VRayEnvironmentFog doesn't have this problem, but may be more complicated to set up.

Ok good to know...I have tried the VRayEnvironmentFog but results are undesirable, any chance for a VRay Volume Light? attached is a pic of the Volume Light effect without exposure.
