  • Matching Vray camera to DSLR

    Hello,

I just want to make sure I'm doing something right....

I have some photography shot on a P45+ camera http://www.phaseone.com/en/Camera-Sy...fications.aspx for a photo montage view.

The CCD width is 49.1mm, is this the same as the film gate in Vray? The lens vray from 35mm to 58mm depending on shot, so this would be the focal length? As the camera is a "medium format" camera, I'm just a little unsure if it's as straight forward as I think it should be?

Any help would be appreciated as always

    Thanks,
    Dean

    Yes.

Yes. However it depends if this is given as actual focal length, or as 35-mm equivalents.

    Best regards,

      Cheers Vlado.

In my test I have the Vray film gate set to 49.1mm and the focal length set to 38.5mm (which is 35mm X 1.1 (which is lens factor according to Phase One's website)) and it appears to be a very good match to the photography, so I think I'm working in the right direction now!

      Thanks,
      Dean
