I'm all up for Vlado's idea, mostly because the added benefit of the general lighting and shadowing of the rest of the fog volume you get, where the fog also gets this nice subtle shading in the so called ambient areas.
The light-catching multiplier would at least let us operate at lower densities.
That being said, we still should be able to render the fog only to its appropriate RE, and not have it in the Beauty pass.Signing out,
