Is this true?

I've read in an article that 3dsMax core is obsolete even for Max 6.!
Is that true and how can you notice that?
What other programs have a more updated to the "state of art" core?

I'd say "mature" is a better word, CAD-3D was a fine program

max "core" is just a small app that is loading all the other stuff,
like user interface, modifiers, renderer.

if something is outdated, than it would be the scanline module.

this is a myth from the maya community.
they are constantly picking on max because they are jealous of not having something like vray.

Well I'm pretty sure Discreet will be launching an alternative before too long. I heard it myself from a Discreet spokesman that I think sometime after Max 7 they will be releasing another format altogether, along with continuing versions of Max. Its much like Autodesks releases of Architectural Desktop & Revit. They can both do similar things, but in entirely different ways.
