  • HDRI & Vrayplane

    Hello,
Does it make sense to couple this 2?
Hdri into the Texture's slot of the vrayplane.

I'm trying to get a fill light with soft shadow at the same time than some irregular rich reflexion, something to mimic light coming from a window (I already have one dome Light with an HDRI as Key light).

    Thanks

So would it not be better to just use wrapper with matte shadows settings on ur plane to create only shadow and then get reflections from IBL ? A standard movie production approach...

Thanks, how do you get the reflections from IBL if the vrayplane has a wrapper instead if the HDRI?

Put standard gray vray MTL in to material slot then if I remember correctly:

Tick Matte Surface, Matter for refl/refr, alpha contribution -1, below tick on Shadows and affect alpha. And I think thats it... I think you also need to instance ur HDR in to refraction slot in to environment globals... and maybe reflection but not sure. I'm maya user havent used vray max for ages
