Yeah... this is very sad. I'm wondering .. HOW is possible.. something like this.
I'm really sad to see that they are italians .. i hope thay are the only people who behave like this!!!
I can remember an image of mine done with MAX 3.1 and Vray showing up in a commercial for MAX 5 from Discreet and Autodesk. They forgot to ask permission or tell me about it. The image supposedly showed how nice the improved dof in MAX worked.....
After threatening with a lawyer, they apologised and promised me never to do it again
mm interesting seems like a lot of us have been ripped of their image ownership at a certain moment. Last time it happened to me (was about the 5th time) someone from the newspaper had composited a picture of local politicians in one of the images. As if that wasn't bad enough he claimed the rights for all the images. (but only "shot" the politicians) Now I'm easy if they mention the source (which they said they would) but this was far too much for me. So I ended Up contacting an image-protection company called SOFAM and for 25 euro they made me a full member, and I tell you these guys are not kidding. They don't even ask politly to remove the picture but go straight to court (after all the damage has been done already right? So no excuses or sorries for these guys who should know all about ownership) I think they operate worldwide through partners, I can strongly reccomend this office to anyone living in the benelux. If you mail them in English they will also give you their associates and members in other countries. Personally I found it a great relief to find someone that takes image ownership theft as a serious offence, and who represents me worldwide for 25 euro a year. Well I hate ruining images by placing watermarks in the middle (so mine always gets cut out) So if they think thats a good opportunity to take my picture with a smile, then claim my image and sort of spit me in the face afterwards, they'll think again. This will cost them several thousand euros now. You can find them here http://www.sofam.be
