  • Bercon maps RWMS

Can anyone explain the logic behind how the real world map size works with bercon tile?

Say I have a 100m square plane and I want a 4x4 stacked tile arrangement.

A RWMS UVW map modifier is applied to geo.
Bercon tile mapping is set to 100mx100m.

In order to get the desired 4x4 tiling I need to set my tile width/height to 25cm.

It doesn't make sense to me. I can leave the Mapping at default, but what happens if I want to tile the overall map?

Yea I've always struggled with Bercon Maps. I always seems to get non-tiling maps from it :/

On a similar note - I'm using Bercon tile to create a mosaic from a UV mapped bitmap (Tile set to centre mapping), that works ok, but I'm wondering if there is a way to gain additional functionality provided by 'Vizpark's Mosaic map':

      http://www.vizpark.com/shop/mosaic/

I.e. the bit that allows you to specify a load of different tile bitmaps (similar to multimap), of different colours, and the plugin will map these to your tiles whilst selecting the one that is closest in colour to the mosaic.

I'm currently using a gradient ramp set to mapped, I'm remapping a concrete texture using the mosaic for the colours in one of the gradient flags- the result is ok but it could be better.
