  • Photoshop Plugin for Floating Point Glares?

No good place to put this thread so I will ask it hear....

Does anyone know of a glare / light flare plugin for Photoshop that calculates the glares off of floating point values above 1.0?

    Thanks.

If you have After Effects you can use Starglow

But I guess your best bet is rendering the vray lens effect as a separate element.

It seems that everything is for AE.
32 bit image editing in photoshop is really lagging behind the times.

The only thing I've found that has somewhat reasonable price and doesn't require an expensive host like AE is Glare
It's not very feature-rich, but you can get at least something useful from it

I generate them using the Vray Lens Flare generator, which saves them as an HDRI - then bring them in to photoshop. Easy.

[edit] Just spotted you were after glares, not lens flares.

Looks interesting and may be a solution for animations. When I tried the lens effect I found it difficult to get the same quality I was getting from the Guillermo's standalone app mentioned below.

We use Glare here. Guillermo (the author) works here. Glare is awesome but it is an extra step that gets skipped if I am in a hurry, but it produces stellar results.

I guess you could try to persuade him to implement it as a PS plugin

I purchased Glare, way back when, but I was never able to use it in production. I looked for my info, but couldn't find it, so I emailed for a demo. I thought I would try it again, but the email got bounced back.
