Hi.
Could someone please help with this issue.
I have what is basically half a vertical cylinder which is closed at the bottom (see attached). The inside faces (walls and bottom) are hot, the rest of the cylinder is cold. I wish to render off the hot faces separate to the cold faces so that I can use these on different layers and apply different effects to hot and cold areas in After Effects or Photoshop.
I have tried using a MultiMatte render element to create masks for each of the hot and cold elements. However, when I did this I cannot seem to be able to find a blend mode that will allow me to use the mask as I would wish.
Could someone please clarify if this is the way to do this and if so provide pointers on what settings I may have wrong. Is it possible to make certain objects (say the cold objects) matte in VRay properties so that I can just render off the other (hot) parts only in one render and then repeat this process to render off the cold parts so that these can be composited? Again, I did try this but as with the first method, I could not find a blend mode that worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Terry
