  • vaymesh and textures

    Hello,

how do you deal with large meshes with lot's of different textures when you want to export to a vraymesh in order to be able to import it in other scenes ?

    thanks!

What do you mean ? Is there any issues with exporting vrmesh or anything else?
If you want to preserve textures you could create a separate max file with already imported vrmesh with assigned materials and use it when you want to import it in other scenes.

No, export works fine Is it normal the vraymesh files are very large compared to a normal max file ? wouldn't it be possible to compress them ?

I was just wondering if there was an easy way to make the export, and create a .mat file automatically, so that when you import the proxy, you also just import the mat file and assign it.

Vray Proxy file is usually with very similar size like uncompressed Max file unless you have exported animation.
There is no way to export .mat file automatically but we are considering options for exporting materials/textures inside vray-proxy for future versions.
