rpc not casting shadows

I can not get the rpc trees to cast shadow. I have turned on the cast shadow box in thr rpc rollout, it is also included in the light. And i have tried all lights with all the shadows (shadow map.raytraced,vrayshadow) What can be the problem. Also how can i get just the shadows to render and not the tree itself. What other good tree pakages are you guys useing
i personaly hate the way rpc trees look?

We use bionatics and speedtree, both of these work fine with Vray, although if you chuck too may Speedtrees in a scheme you get Vray errors...
