how can I get shadows on the ground without any object that simulates ground like in Brazil rendering engine ( enviroment skylight and shadows )

did you or someone else just finish asking this in another place on the forum? and none of us could figure out what you had meant by it. either you mean simulating brazils groundplane or you mean a matte shadow object. not sure

why not just add a plane then turn on matte shadow perameters on it?
