  • Vray stereoscopic squashed rendering possible?

    Hi,

so again we´re on a tight deadline with a stereoscopic project.
Since the final output will be 1920*1080, with both eyes set to half width, I was wondering if it is possible to render it like this directly (instead of rendering both eyes together at 3840*1080 and then squashing the output in post to halfit´s width)?

That would have our rendertimes...I tried unticking "adjust resolution", but then vray just crops each eye instead of squashing it...

lock the image aspect, change the pixel aspect ratio to 2 then change the height back to 1080

Halving the resolution, but 'adjust resolution' - gives you the same thing as the normal resolution without adjusting. Yeah it wont squeeze. This is a good point..

You would assume that when adjust resolution isn't checked, the renders would be squeezed to match the current renders aspect ratio. Looks like the best you can do is downsize both the width & height

Thanks, already found that out by myself already. No room for errors this way, but I´m kind of getting the grip of stereoscopy, so it worked alright.
Also not a solution if you need mono output aswell, but hey, can´t have everything...
