  • Vray Visable Light problem

    Hi all

Im having probs with this & wondered if you can help, I have a visible vray light to create the bright effect on the side of the car but I only want the light visible for reflection so the camera cant see it in the ski.

I've tried a light card with an output but this doesn't produce a strong refection in the body & glass?

Im not using Gi cause its an anim with quite a lot of frames so was trying to save render time.

    Any ideas?

Im trying to match the photo, "the attached pic without the while square!"

Im happy with my current render "image with white square"

Its a little bitty as its low quality!

Any ideas how I can make my lite invisable to the cam but not to refections?

    Thanks all

I dont think so. I created my own light card .hdr that I can use in some situations that kind of achieves what you want but its not particularly accurate in placement.

      Raise the output some more.

You really can't. An alternative is to make the Vray light invisible.
Place a light card of similar dimension at the same position as the
Vray light. Then turn off its "visible to Camera", "create/receive
      shadows" properties.

            Problem Solved

            Thanks guys problem solved

I had missed upping the Output level!

I just created a plane "Light Card" and made it invis to the cam & placed it next to the Vray lite.

maybe your missing the most simple solution to the question your asking again and again. to make it not visable to camera but visable in reflections right click on the object. click properties then turn off "visable to camera" this will help you out
