  • Mixing AMD and Intel for rendering... still a problem?

I remember several years ago it was recommended to NOT mix AMD and Intel CPUs when doing network rendering with V-Ray because the results tended to be different. Is this still a problem with today's CPUs?

I'd like to know if this is still an issue, too. From my understanding it was procedural maps that caused issues, since the different processors would work out the solutions differently and output mismatched results. But maybe it went further than this.

In general all Vray features should be executed in exactly the same manner regardless CPU-type producing identical result.
The only exception of that rule is Embree-raycaster which originally comes from Intel.
Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that all 3DSMax features like procedural textures and etc will stick to that rule too.
