    Actually we can do some tests (on V-Ray 2.x + Embree plugin and V-Ray 3.0 Embree ) if you supply the scene.

        though it didn't crash max (design 2014 and vray 2.40.04), embree seemed to cause weird errors for me. I had a particular scene where if enabled, it rendered glass objects with fog much darker than the native 2.40 raycaster. was not able to find a solution back then and so stopped using it as it seemed a bit unpredictable in its current implementation.

          Maybe, it has been polished for 3.0, which apparently is part of the build now.

            yes, when I was trying the beta it worked just fine, ans depending on the scene could be actually faster. guess it's just not quite as optimized for vray 2.x
